Community Engagement Committee – The Community Outreach Committee coordinates Central Ohio Young Black Democrats events aimed at addressing minority issues in the Central Ohio community. The committee also works to establish and strengthen private sector relations with other community organizations, businesses, and churches. Lastly this committee routinely puts on open community conversation like forums, to engage the community in thought provoking conversations around various social and political issues that are at the forefront of the black community.
Membership & Philanthropic Committee – The Membership Committee recruits and engages prospective members of the Central Ohio Young Black Democrats. The committee also provides input to expand the Central Ohio Young Black Democrats membership with events to support the initiatives of the organization while organizing social events to bring the young black community together. The philanthropic side, looks at volunteer and fundraising opportunities that not only support Central Ohio Young Black Democrats as an organization but also gives back and spotlights areas of the black community in the Central Ohio area.
Communications & Marketing Committee – The Communications & Marketing Committee oversees the strategic communications and marketing plan to promote the Central Ohio Young Black Democrats mission and vision. The committee also maintains the organization's external image including but not limited to the official website, social media pages, e-newsletter and media relations.
Junior & Collegiate Affairs Committee – The Junior & Collegiate Affairs Committee seeks to engage blacks at a collegiate and high school level by not only educating them on the political process but also creating opportunities for them to gain experience through internships and mentor-ships. Lastly, this committee focuses on the recruitment and retention of members at this level in collaboration with our Membership committee.
Policy Committee – The Policy Committee monitors policies and issues affecting young black Democrats as well as young black activists in local and state governments within the Central Ohio area. In addition, the committee is responsible for coordinating political and educational forums, speakers for general body meetings and meeting with public officials to discuss issues that are of importance to the Central Ohio Young Black Democrats and the black community in the Franklin County area.
Small Business Committee – The Small Business Committee is our newest committee. This committee seeks to equip self employed and small business owners to succeed through building political relationships, resources and awareness on legislation that impacts small businesses in Central Ohio.
